Good pruning is about far more than making a tree smaller. Done correctly and at the right time of year, pruning improves a tree's structure, removes hazards before they fall, and supports long, healthy growth. Done poorly, it can leave wounds that invite decay and disease for the rest of the tree's life.
Our certified arborist prunes to recognized industry standards, never by simply topping a tree or cutting it back to stubs. Whether your trees need crown thinning to let light and air through, deadwood removed for safety, or clearance away from a roof, driveway, or power line, each cut is made with the long term health of the plant in mind.
We also shape and maintain ornamental and shrub plantings, and we provide structural pruning for young trees so they grow strong and balanced from the start. A little guidance early on saves you from major problems and expensive removals years down the road.
Most trees in our area are best pruned in late winter while they are dormant, which reduces stress and the spread of disease. There are exceptions, and dead or dangerous limbs can be removed at any time of year. During your free estimate we will tell you honestly whether a tree should be pruned now or whether it is better to wait for the right season.
